Bad Housing Numbers Since 2007- who would have seen that coming!
December 14, 2011Yeah, nobody wanted to believe me. Even though I have been saying it for months throughout my blog, there is no way the housing numbers are what the National Association of Realtors (NAR) say they are. I mean it is simple math; jobs being lost, credit drying up, less cash in your pocket, gas prices increasing, yet NAR is telling everyone the housing market is improving. You feel it don't you? Food prices are increasing, the economy is unstable, our politicians are completely screwed up, the price of heating and cooling your home has increase substantially, but the housing marketing is getting better???

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz Just Doesn’t Get It???

On September 2, 2011, I received an email from Starbucks CEO and founder Howard Schultz. The email talks about his frustration with politics and the politicians inability to work things out and how it is hurting America. He tries to tug your heart string by being concerned about the jobless and small business credit issues. He is really concerned about the American's who simply feel they no longer have a voice. He says "We are better than this."

The hot days of summer are now upon us. As I write this it's 110 degrees outside; its even to hot to try and fry an egg on the street. Don't laugh, my parents saw a couple of young girls trying this the other day. The girls had a piece of tinfoil laid out on the street and the egg was actually frying. They were having a lot of fun with their experiment, plus they were outside and away from the computers and videos games. This put a big smile on my parents face.

June 2011 Kansas Home Sales Continue to Fall

Kansas home sales dropped by 14.8% percent in June 2011 compared to June 2010, according to new figures published by the Kansas Association of REALTORS®. Sales totaled 2,990 units in June, down from 3,511 units in 2010. In comparison, sales on a national level declined 8.8% for the month.

Monetary Obligations

Benjamin Franklin wisely said that the only two constants in this world are death and taxes. However, for the Christian one other powerful constant can be added and that is the provision of God for his children.
In Matthew the 17th chapter versus 24 through 27 we read about the response of Jesus in regards to tax obligations. Specifically a tax, equating to 2 days of a typical wage for an individual, was required to be paid to support the Temple in Jerusalem. When reading this account we can absorb a number of key points.
