Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz Just Doesn’t Get It???
On September 2, 2011, I received an email from Starbucks CEO and founder Howard Schultz. The email talks about his frustration with politics and the politicians inability to work things out and how it is hurting America. He tries to tug your heart string by being concerned about the jobless and small business credit issues. He is really concerned about the American's who simply feel they no longer have a voice. He says "We are better than this."
He goes on to say how he has asked some of his other rich buddies (and I have no problem with rich people) to urge the
"President and the Congress to put an end to partisan gridlock". Can't everybody just get a long? If everyone just agreed on everything, life would be so much easier wouldn't it Howard? Howard, your a complete moron. Our current government system is designed to work the way it is working. It takes a majority to get things moving in one direction or another. Without the majority, you have stagnation or what you said – "gridlock", until the next election. By the way Howard, this is one of the places American's have a voice; didn't you hear the peoples voice at the last election? The reason "we the people" elect our representatives is so we can hire a voice for the majority.
To make matters worse and Howard look like an even bigger dope, he is asking concerned Americans to to join in a national call-in which is hosted by "No Labels". "No Labels" calls themselves a nonpartisan organization, but if you did even a little research you would find this is not true. The name in itself is a label. No Labels was started with hopes of having offices in ALL 435 congressional districts. They are forming a political action committee to help defend moderate candidates of both parties, you can read about that here. Poor old Howard simply didn't do his research. It's hard to believe the CEO of Starbucks doesn't understand what a political action committee is, so Howard, here is a place to go get the definition.
When you come right down to it, it makes me wonder if I should purchase what I call overpriced products from Starbucks. Maybe all of us should just tell Howard his company prices are just to high, McDonalds coffee is much cheaper. If only Starbuck and McDonald's would just get a long. Wait, here's an idea. McDonald's should make the same coffee as Starbucks and Starbucks should lower it's overpriced coffee to match McDonald's prices, then nobody would be unhappy or upset. I don't really see any reason why a bi-partisan agreement between the companies couldn't be met – do you Howard?
