We Are Money Managers

Most of us work hard to earn money, so it’s understandable when we refer to our paycheck, our salary, or our money. Yet the Bible is clear we are not the owners, just stewards. God created us, and the whole world, so everything is rightfully his.
“If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof, ” the Bible says in Psalms 50:12 KJ/AV.
Of course God himself has no real use for all those animal sacrifices
in the Old Testament. What he really wants from us is our thanks. He wants us to pay our vows to him, it says in Psalms 50:14 KJ/AV.
It is God’s priests, the Levites, who need our support. So God asks us to give a tithe of 10 percent. In Leviticus 1 and 2, the Bible outlines the procedure for sacrifices and it makes it clear the priests – Aaron and his sons – receive the remnant of the meat offering. In Leviticus 27:32, it refers to a tenth of the herd being “holy unto the Lord.”
It may be hard to part with money, especially in hard times, but trusting God is ultimately the best thing to do. God promises to bless us for our obedience in Malachi 3.
