You have to go to school, about 200 hours, get a license, then get an apprenticeship with another appraiser in Missouri. Since that will take you 4-5 years your next step is uncertain, as the laws change. Right now you have another 30 or so hours of school after your 2 year apprenticeship and the test to get certified. You can work independently after your are certified.

Good luck, it is a pretty tight knit group and hard to get in to if you do not know someone.
